Convention Queens

Although now relegated to the past, Alpha Sigma Tau once had a tradition of choosing a Convention Queen. The Queen would be selected from amongst a number of nominees, with the runners-up known as Convention Princesses. This tradition included common pageant activities, such as candidates giving introductory speeches and answering questions from the competition judges. The Queen would then be honored at an event, sometimes called the Queen's and Belles Luncheon, where she would mingle with the National Council and other guests.
